On July 31, Chinese Ambassador to India H.E. Xu Feihong held talks with the delegation of Indian celebrities in the literary and art circles. The two sides had friendly exchanges on China-India cultural exchanges and other issues of common interest. Ambassador Xu Feihong said that China and India have many touching stories of friendly exchanges in history. Xuanzang's Buddhist practice in Nalanda was well-known in both countries. Tagore's visit to China 100 years ago promoted cultural exchanges between China and India. The deeds of Dr. Kotnis who served and sacrificed in the Chinese People’s war of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression have always been praised by the two peoples. China and India have many connections and similarities in the fields of literature, music, philosophy, fine arts, history, etc. It is hoped that the Indian literary and art circles could give full play to the role as a bridge and bond for China-India friendship. Next year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India. The two sides should implement the important consensuses reached by the leaders of the two countries, carry forward the spirit of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, adhere to the " five mutuals " proposed by Foreign Minister Wang Yi in his recent meeting with External Affairs Minister Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, and actively promote the improvement and development of China-India relations.
The delegation members shared their experiences and impressions of their visit to China with Ambassador Xu Feihong, saying that they were deeply impressed by China's development and the hospitality and sincerity of the Chinese people. They hoped that the two countries could strengthen exchanges and cooperation in the fields of poetry, philosophy, translation, painting, youth and so on.
From July 25 to 30, at the invitation of the Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries, the Chinese Embassy in India organized the delegation to visit China. The delegation visited Beijing, Changzhou and Nanjing.
