On 10th May 2024, Chinese Ambassador to India, H.E. Xu Feihong arrived in New Delhi with his wife Madame Tan Yuxiu to assume office. Over the past 100 days, Ambassador Xu Feihong has met with people from all walks of life in India, carried out in-depth public diplomacy.
Through presenting his Letter of Credence to the President of India Smt. Droupadi Murmu, visiting Nalanda University and witnessing Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurating its new campus, calling on Dr. Subrahmanyam Jaishankar, External Affairs Minister of India, Ambassador Xu expressed willingness to make joint efforts with Indian side to bring China-India relations forward, and jointly explore the way for two ancient civilizations and major neighboring countries to get along well with each other.

Ambassador Xu reached out to people from Indian government, political parties, think tanks, media, organizations and other walks of life. He was present at the Welcome Reception, the Reception to Celebrate the 97th Anniversary of the Founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army, and held the Seminar on the 70th Anniversary of the Five Principles of Peaceful Coexistence, extensively soliciting opinions on how to bring China-India relations back to the track of sound and steady development.
Ambassador Xu contributed articles in “The Hindu” and “Mint”, telling the stories of China and China-India friendship, posted 150 times on X attracting more than 2.5 million views, endeavoring to enhance the mutual understanding and right perception of our two peoples.
Ambassador Xu visited the Dr. Dwarkanath Kotnis Memorial in Solapur, Maharashtra; attended the 2024 India Finals and Award Ceremony of “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition; held talks with Indian Celebrities in the Literary and Art Circles, seeking public support for bilateral relations.
What's past is prologue. The Chinese Embassy in India will spare no efforts to work with people from all walks of life in India to promote the improvement and development of China-India relations.
