95 years ago, in order to strive for national independence and people's liberation, the Communist Party of China led an armed uprising in Nanchang, announcing the birth of a new people's army. Since then, under the strong leadership of the Communist Party of China, the people's army has fought bravely and fearlessly, saving the Chinese nation from the abyss of suffering with blood and life. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the People's Liberation Army has comprehensively strengthened its revolutionary, modernized and standardized construction, effectively responded to various threats and challenges, actively served and ensured the overall situation of national reform, development and stability, and become a strong pillar for safeguarding national sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, with the guidance of Xi Jinping's Thought on Strengthening the Military, the People's Liberation Army, in accordance with the goal of "capable of fighting and fighting to win", has further promoted political loyalty, strengthened themselves through reform, science and technology and training of competent personnel, and run themselves in accordance with the law. With the efforts to strengthen national defense and military modernization, and comprehensively deepen national defense and military reform , the People's Liberation Army has forged a powerful army which is always ready to be called, capable of fighting, and sure to win, striding forward towards the grand goal of building a world-class armed forces in an all-round way.

China has always pursued a national defense policy that is defensive in nature, resolutely held high the banner of peace, development and cooperation for win-win results, and actively participated in international and regional security affairs. In recent years, China’s armed forces have actively provided public security products to the international community in the fields of United Nations peacekeeping, anti-terrorism, overseas escort, and international disaster relief and extensively carried out international anti-epidemic cooperation, and made joint efforts with all parties to respond to common security threats and challenges, becoming a staunch force in maintaining world peace and stability. Over the past 30 years, China has sent nearly 50,000 peacekeepers to participate in 25 UN peacekeeping operations, becoming the country that has sent the largest number of peacekeeping troops among the five permanent members of the UN Security Council. Among them, 16 officers and soldiers have lost their precious lives. In August this year, the International Peacekeeping Forum of "Common Vision" will also be held by China, inviting all parties to contribute wisdom to UN peacekeeping operations. So far, China has dispatched 41 escort fleets to provide safety protection for more than 7,000 Chinese and foreign ships in Somalia and the Gulf of Aden. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, the Chinese military has provided medical supplies and vaccines to the militaries of nearly 100 countries. Facing the changes of the world, of our times and of history, President Xi Jinping put forward the Global Security Initiative (GSI) for the first time, charting the course for countries to cooperate to address common challenges and build lasting peace. The Chinese military will always keep its mission in mind and forge ahead. While resolutely safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests, it will actively serve the building of a community with shared future for mankind, deepening and advancing Global Security Initiatives, and moving forward courageously to maintain world peace and promote common development.

China and India are important neighbors to each other. A healthy and stable China-India relationship serves the fundamental interests of the two countries and peoples, and is conducive to maintain regional and world peace, stability and development. After the incident occurred in the China-India border area, both sides have maintained communication through diplomatic and military channels, and insisted on effectively managing and resolving differences through dialogue. The overall situation in the China-India border area has remained stable. The disengagement has been completed at most points, and bilateral relations have shown a momentum of recovery. We believe that as long as China and India and their militaries can make joint efforts in the same direction, further implementing the consensus reached by the leaders of the both sides, enhancing strategic mutual trust, and properly handling differences, the China-India military relations will continue to develop along a healthy and correct track.
