Notice for China-bound Passengers over Requirements on Epidemic Prevention and Control

Starting from 29 April, 2023, passengers travelling to China on international flights can use antigen self-testing result within 48 hours instead of nucleic acid test for boarding. Airlines will no longer check the test certificates before boarding. The Chinese Embassy in India has updated the "Epidemic Prevention and Control Guidelines for China-bound Passengers" for the convenience of passengers, please read through and follow the Guideline to ensure a smooth trip.

Epidemic Prevention and Control Guidelines for China-bound Passengers

I. Pre-boarding Test: Either antigen kit or nucleic acid test should be performed within 48 hours prior to boarding and only those with negative results can travel to China.

II. Customs declaration: Passengers are required to declare the negative test result to China Customs by filling the Health Declaration Form either on Wechat mini-program of China Customs (scan the QR code below),or at the web page (https://htdecl.chinaport.gov.cn), or via the China Customs APP.


III. Airlines will no longer check the test results before boarding.

IV. On-board prevention measures: Passengers are requested to strictly follow the airline's epidemic prevention requirements and take personal protection to reduce the risk of infection.

V. Entry inspection: Passengers should go through the necessary customs procedures upon arrival with the customs health declaration code. Passengers with normal health declaration and showing no abnormalities against regular quarantine check will be allowed to enter border. Customs will conduct sample testing according to a certain percentage. Passengers with abnormal health declarations or symptoms such as fever are required to cooperate with Customs in epidemiological investigations and medical checks, and accept sampling and testing for relevant infectious diseases.

VI. After-entry Epidemic Prevention and Control: After entry into China, passengers will have to strictly abide by the epidemic prevention and control requirements where they stay.
