Notice on Visa Application

Starting from August 28, 2008, all the ordinary passport holders wishing to visit China are requested to apply visas in the Chinese Visa Application Service Center (CVASC).

Office hours:

For applications: 09:00-14:00 Monday to Friday, except holidays.

For collections and payments: 10:00-16:00 Monday to Friday, except holidays.

CVASC Service Charge:

The CVASC Charges Rs. 610(inclusive of taxes) per visa for its service on top of visa fees. In case of urgent applications (collect the visa on the 2nd working day), it will be Rs. 775(inclusive of taxes).

The following applicants are requested to apply directly to the Chinese Embassy:

1.Diplomatic and official passport holders as well as important delegations;

2. Those who apply visa for Hong Kong SAR of China;

3. Media persons & Journalists. (Please contact directly with the Press Section of Chinese Embassy in advance, Tel: 011-26881249);

4. Attestation and Notarization applicants;

5. Chinese citizens applying for a new or renewed passport, travel document or HKSAR entry permit.

The office hours of the consular section of Chinese Embassy is adjusted as:

10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Monday to Friday, except holidays.

P.S:

With the opening of the CVASC, travel agencies must forward visa applications to the center. By making appointments beforehand on the official website of the Chinese Embassy, a limited portion of individual applicants may temporarily submit their applications directly to the Embassy to apply for L (Tourism), F (Business), X (Study), Z (Employment), G (Transit), C (Crew) & D (Residence) Visas, while those who fail to do so have to apply through the CVASC.

Applicants from Maharashtra and Karnataka may continue to apply at the Consulate General of China, Mumbai. And Applicants from West Bengal, Orissa, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand and Bihar may continue to apply at the Consulate General of China, Kolkata.
