The BRICS Leaders Meeting will be held in Sanya, Hainan Province in mid April, 2011. The Information Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of PRC starts to handle media application on 11 March.

All Chinese and foreign journalists (including those traveling with official delegations) are requested to register online at http://foreignjournalists.fmprc.gov.cn/foreignjournalists before 31 March.

Apart from online registration, applicants still need to submit additional documents.

Chinese journalists (including those from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan) need to fax editor's confirmation letters to the Information Department.

Foreign journalists traveling with official delegations of the BRICS countries need to apply to their relevant authorities who should enclose the name lists of journalists and equipment lists to Chinese diplomatic missions via official Notes.

Foreign journalists on temporary assignments to cover the meeting are requested to provide letters of authorization from their editors to Chinese diplomatic missions or the Information Department.

Resident foreign journalists in China are requested to provide the numbers of their Press Cards issued by the Information Department.

Chinese assistants for foreign media are requested to provide the numbers of their Employee Cards issued by the Chinese foreign service authorities.

Information on media arrangements, press cards pickup and etc. will be released later.
