Chinese Premier Wen to visit India, Pakistan

Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Jiang Yu announces:

At the invitation of Prime Minister Manmohan Singh of the Republic of India and Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Premier Wen Jiabao of the State Council will pay official visits to the above two countries from December 15 to 19.

During the visits, Premier Wen Jiabao will hold talks and meetings with leaders of the above countries to have an in-depth exchange of views on how to develop bilateral relations and deepen mutually beneficial cooperation in various fields as well as international and regional issues of common interest. During his visit to India, Premier Wen Jiabao will join Prime Minister Singh to attend celebrations that mark the 60th anniversary of establishment of China-India diplomatic ties and have extensive contact and communication with the Indian people from all sectors. During his visit to Pakistan, Premier Wen Jiabao will attend China-Pakistan Business Cooperation Summit and meet with Pakistani friends who have made contribution to the friendship between the two countries. It is believed that Premier Wen Jiabao's visits will further deepen China-India relations and China-Pakistan relations and promote peace, stability and development in the region.
