Wang Gang Meets Indian Delegation

On September 14, 2012, a senior official of the Communist Party of China (CPC) met with a delegation of Janata Dal (United), a political party in India, pledging to strengthen cooperation between the two groups.

Wang Gang, a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee, vowed to enhance communication and cooperation between the two parties, and inject vigor to the two countries' relations during the meeting with the delegation headed by Sharad Yadav, president of Janata Dal (United).

Wang hailed the good momentum in the development of the two countries' relationship and highlighted the blossoming of the two sides' strategic cooperative partnership, the establishment of important mechanisms of dialogue, results in exchanges and cooperation in various fields and joint work in safeguarding the interests of developing countries on major international issues.

Wang, who is also vice chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee, said the visit by Yadav marks the official establishment of ties between the two parties.

Yadav said Janata Dal (United) will increase contact with the CPC and make greater efforts in promoting India-China relations.
