Chinese Embassy in India Holds "Chinese Bridge" Competition

To further carry forward the Chinese culture, expand China's positive influence in international Chinese teaching and stimulate the enthusiasm of foreign young students to learn Chinese so as to promote cultural and educational ties between China and other countries, Chinese Embassy in India held the third "Chinese Bridge" Chinese Proficiency Competition for Foreign College Students (India venue) in Jawaharlal Nehru University on June 4.

The subject of the competition was "China, a country with a splendid culture". The activity was attended by nearly 100 students, including contestants and audiences from Jawaharlal Nehru University, Delhi University, Banaras Hindu University and Visva-Bharati in West Bengal. The contestants delivered vivid speeches with beautiful voices and strong emotional appeal. The competition reached a climax with their poem recitation, Chinese calligraphy show and Chinese song "Visit Her Parents".

After judgment, two Indian university students won and would attend the final competition to be held in Beijing from August 7 to 16.
