H. E. Ambassador Zhang Yan Delivers a Speech at the Second "China-South Asia Cultural Forum"

On 4 December, 2009, H. E. Mr. Zhang Yan, Chinese Ambassador to India delivered a speech at the inauguration of the second “China-South Asia Cultural Forum” in New Delhi.

Ambassador Zhang spoke highly of the friendly relations between China and South Asian countries, noting a peaceful, stable and prosperous South Asia is in the interests of China, Asia and the world. He said that the Chinese side sincerely wishes to see the political stability, economic prosperity and well-being of the people in South Asian countries, as well as the rise of international status and influence of the region. China is ready to join hands with South Asian countries to seek cooperation and win-win results and realize common development and prosperity.

“China-South Asian Cultural Forum” was co-sponsored by Chinese People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), Institute of Chinese Studies, India, Delhi University and Jewaharlal Nehru University. Mr. Jing Dunquan, Vice Chairman of CPAFFC, H. E. Dr. M. Veerappa Moily, Minister for Law and Justice of India, Prof. Tan Chung, Prof. Mohanty and 50 other famous scholars and experts on China-India relations and South Asia attended the forum.
