"The Charming Guangxi" Presented in New Delhi

To celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and India and as one of "China Festival" activities in India, the Guangxi Performing Art Troupe presented "The Charming Guangxi", a performance with Guangxi multi-ethnic features to the Indian audience on November 23, 2010 at Kamani Auditorium of New Delhi. Chinese Ambassador to India Mr. Zhang Yan and his wife Madam Chen Wangxia were present at the show. More than 500 people from all walks of life of India, foreign diplomats in India, representatives from Chinese enterprises, overseas Chinese and students in India watched the performance.

      

The Guangxi Performing Art Troupe of China, led by director of Cultural Department of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Mr. Yu Yizhong, was composed of the Guangxi Opera and Dance Drama Theatre, the Guangxi Acrobatic Troupe and the Guangxi Puppet Art Troupe. Strong features of the Guangxi Zhuang ethnic community were shown in various programs including songs, dance, acrobatics and puppet performing. The brilliant dances with distinctive styles such as "the Ringing Silver Dance", "the Love Song of Kangding", the breathtaking acrobatics "Monkeys through Rings" and the miraculous puppet stunts "Face Changing" won cheers of the audience many times during the show.

      

After the performance, Ambassador Zhang Yan walked up the stage to congratulate the success of performance and expressed his appreciation to the artists for their contribution to strengthening the friendship between China and India.

On November 22, the Cultural Office of the Chinese Embassy held a welcome reception for the Guangxi Performing Art Troupe. Ambassador Zhang attended the reception.
