On September 8th, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in India held a seminar on the 80th anniversary of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. Ambassador Xu Feihong attended the seminar and delivered a keynote speech. Nearly 100 representatives from Indian political parties, friendly organizations, think tanks, media, and universities participated.

Ambassador Xu reviewed the significance of the victory of the Chinese People’s War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War, thanked Indian people for its unwavering support to Chinese people during the War of Resistance, especially for sending a Medical Mission to China from thousands of miles away, and elucidated the Global Governance Initiative proposed by Presidnet Xi Jinping at the “SCO Plus” Meeting. He emphasized that China and India should carry forward the great friendship forged during the War of Resistance, strengthen exchanges and cooperation in various fields, and further enhance bilateral relations through the Tianjin meeting. He stated that we should work together to pursue a path of peaceful coexistence between major neighboring countries,  write a new chapter of modernization, amplify the united voice of the Global South, and advance toward a community with a shared future for humanity.

Indian participants all agreed that the peoples of India and China have forged a profound friendship through mutual sympathy and support in their struggles against foreign oppression and for national independence. The current turbulent international situation highlights the importance of strengthening cooperation between India and China. The Tianjin meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Xi Jinping has injected new impetus into India-China relations. Both sides should uphold the spirit of unity forged during the War of Resistance, strengthen exchanges and cooperation, properly handle differences, advance India-China relations, and jointly promote world peace and progress.
