On November 25, 2025, the Chinese Embassy in India co-hosted a seminar on the "15th Five-Year Plan" with CNN-NEWS18, India's top-rated English-language television network. Mr. Mohammed Saqib, Secretary-General of India China Economic and Cultural Council, Mr. Manish Chand, Head of Centre for Global India Insights, Associate Professor Mr. Aravind Yelery from the Centre for East Asian Studies at Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU), and students from JNU attended.
Ambassador Xu Feihong stated in his keynote that China’s 15th Five-Year Plan not only outlines the blueprint for China's economic and social development over the next five years, but will also create more opportunities for all countries, including India. China stands ready to work with the Indian side to follow the guidance of the important consensus between the two leaders and advance China-India relations on the track of sound and stable development. China and India should approach bilateral relations from a strategic and long-term perspective, respect each other's core interests, and serve as fellow travelers on the road to modernization. Both sides should focus on development as the “greatest common denominator”, deepen practical cooperation, make a bigger pie of common interests, so that people in both countries will benefit more from the outcomes of development. In the face of the profound changes unseen in a century and the countercurrent of unilateralism, China and India should, more than ever, stand shoulder to shoulder, resolutely say no to hegemony, and make global governance more just and equitable. The Indian speakers highly praised China's remarkable achievements during the 14th Five-Year Plan period. They believe that the 15th Five-Year Plan will provide more opportunities for cooperation between China and India in such areas as digital technology, green energy, and advanced manufacturing, thereby jointly driving the development and prosperity of the Global South.
