Ambassador Xu Feihong Attends Founder’s Day Event of Tagore International School (Vasant Vihar) in New Delhi

On December 5th, Ambassador Xu Feihong attended the Founder's Day event at Tagore International School (Vasant Vihar) in New Delhi and delivered a speech.

Ambassador Xu first extended wishes to all the faculty and students of the school, and expressed respect to Dr. Hari Sen, the founder of the school. He stated that the school has carried forward Mr. Rabindranath Tagore's profound aspirations for China-India friendship, actively engaged in educational and cultural exchanges, and played a positive role in enhancing mutual understanding and promoting mutual learning. Professor Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, once visited the Vasant Vihar campus, leaving behind many wonderful memories. Students from Tagore International School experienced a virtual interaction with Chinese astronauts aboard the Tiangong Space Station and youths from various SCO countries, opening a new chapter in China-India youth exchanges. He noted that this year marks the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India. China formulated the 15th Five-Year Plan for National Economic and Social Development and Chinese-style modernization has ascended to a new level. India is advancing towards its vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. It is expected that educational and cultural cooperation between the two countries will be further deepened. He hopes that Tagore International School could continue to make contributions to friendly exchanges between China and India.

More than 250 students of the school staged a large-scale musical Once Upon a Lamp. Mrs. Tan Yuxiu, the Ambassador's wife, greeted the student representatives and presented souvenirs to all the performers. Over 800 people attended the event, including Ms. Madhulika Sen, the school's Senior Education Advisor, Ms. Jyotika Jakhar, the school's Principal, Minister-Counselor Wang Xinming and Counselor Yang Xiuhua of the Embassy, representatives of young diplomats, principals of some primary and secondary schools in Delhi, and teachers, students and parents of the school.
