On September 17th, The Asian Age published a representation letter from spokesperson of the Chinese Embassy in India Counselor Ji Rong. The text of the letter is as follows:

On September 11th, you published a signed article by Lin Chia-lung, Taiwan's so-called "minister for transport", calling for support to Taiwan's participation in the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The Chinese side has serious concern and strong dissatisfaction with the article, which seriously violated the One-China principle and sent wrong signals.

The One-China principle is a widely accepted consensus of the international community including the Government of the Republic of India. On the issue of the participation of China’s Taiwan region in the activities of international organizations, including ICAO, China's position is consistent and clear, i.e. the issue must be handled in accordance with the One-China principle. ICAO and a series of meetings related to ICAO are organized under the overall framework of the United Nations. As a United Nations specialized agency, only sovereign states are entitled to participate in related activities of ICAO. As an inalienable part of China's territory, Taiwan naturally has no right to participate in relevant activities of international organizations such as ICAO.

The current Taiwan authorities obstinately adhere to separatist stance of "Taiwan independence" and seek for Taiwan to participate in relevant activities of ICAO under the pretext of "aviation safety". This is all for the purpose of concealing its true intention and attempting to create "two Chinas" or "one China, one Taiwan". The Chinese government is strongly opposed to it and will never allow it to happen.
