On July 30th , 2024, the Chinese Embassy in India held a reception at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in New Delhi to celebrate the 97th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People's Liberation Army (PLA).  Ambassador Xu Feihong and Defense Attaché, Rear Admiral Ji Mingzhou addressed the reception. Over 400 guests were invited,  including diplomats and military attachés in the embassies, as well as representatives from all walks of life in India.

In his speech, Ambassador Xu Feihong said, the Chinese military has provided strong support for safeguarding national sovereignty, security and development interests, and has made positive contributions to building a community with a shared future for mankind. China will continue to fully implement the Global Security Initiative, strengthen international security cooperation, and jointly build a world of lasting peace and universal security. China and India should implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, promote the development of bilateral relations along a healthy and stable track, and jointly promote regional and world peace and stability.

Defense Attaché Ji Mingzhou pointed out in his speech, over the past 97 years, the PLA has performed immortal feats in national independence, liberation and prosperity. At present, we are accelerating the modernization of national defense and the military, and striving to achieve the centenary goal of the founding of the PLA. In recent years, the Chinese military has actively provided public security products to the international community in the fields of UN peacekeeping, anti-terrorism, overseas escort, and humanitarian assistance, becoming a staunch force in maintaining world peace and stability.

The reception showed the guests a series of pictures and played several special videos in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The guests warmly congratulated the 97th anniversary of the founding of the PLA, highly praised the achievements of China's national defense and military construction in the new era, and positively evaluated the contribution of the Chinese military to maintaining world peace.
