To further promote electronic service for visa applications, since January 17, 2025, the Immigration Department (ImmD) of the government of of the government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region has adjusted the application submission procedure concerning certain entry policies/schemes as follows. 1. General Employment Policy (including both employment and entrepreneurs investment); 2. Admission Scheme for Mainland Talents and Professionals; 3. Capital Investment Entrant Scheme; 4. Training; 5. Working Holiday Scheme; 6. Residence as Dependants. Applicants of the aforementioned policies/schemes must submit their applications for visa/entry permits or extensions of stay electronically through the ImmD mobile application, the ImmD's website (www.immd.gov.hk/eng/index.html) or the GovHK website (www.gov.hk/en/nonresidents/). The ImmD will no longer accept application submitted in person, by post or drop-in-box. For applications to study in Hong Kong, applicants can submit applications online, by direct mail, or through a guarantor in Hong Kong. The Embassy and Consulates-General of the People’s Republic of China in India will no longer accept or forward application of this type. The submission procedure for Chinese mainland resident applying to study in Hong Kong through admitted institution is unchanged.
