On May 10, Chinese Embassy in India hosted a screening of the Chinese animated film Nezha 2. The event attracted nearly 200 participants, including representatives from Indian media outlets and young students from universities such as Jawaharlal Nehru University and the University of Delhi. Prior to the screening, Minister Counsellor Mr.Wang Xinming highlighted the long-standing and vibrant cultural exchanges between China and India. He noted that Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan, speaking at the recently concluded India’s first World Audio Visual Entertainment Summit (WAVES) , had remarked that audiences in China, the cultural flavors in China, and the emotions of people in China are similar to the emotions of Indians.Mr.Wang emphasized that the film’s iconic line, “I am the master of my fate”reflects the shared aspirations of youth in both nations—to rewrite fate with hope and create joy. He expressed hope that cultural resonance would foster greater collaboration and that outstanding Chinese and Indian films will serve as a bridge for cultural engagement between our two countries in the new era.
The screening was met with enthusiastic participation. Youths signed messages on boards, while some attempted cosplay of the film’s characters, drawing continuous applause. Many praised the film for exceeding expectations, commending its distinctive characters, rich plot, delicate emotions, and stunning visual effects. They look forward to seeing more exceptional Chinese films in Indian cinemas.
