Chinese Exhibitors Attended IITF

On November 14-27, the 25th India International Trade Fair (IITF) was held in Pragati Maidan. Present at the inauguration of the fair were Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Minister Kamal Nath, Minister of State Elangovan and Secretary S. N. Menon of the Ministry of Commerce & Industry, and the Chief Ministers of West Bengal and Uttaranchal.

The GENERTEC International Advertising & Exhibition Co., Ltd of China organized about 80 exhibitors to attend the fair. 73 stalls were set up by some 200 businessmen from Shandong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Guangxi, Fujian and Tibet Autonomous Region. Chinese products on exhibition included machines, automobile spare parts, household appliances, textile, jewelry and stationery, which enjoyed wide popularity among Indian businessmen.

The theme of the fair was "Infrastructure-Power and Communications". Thailand was the focus country. Uttaranchal and West Bengal were the 'partner' and 'focus' states respectively. About 7500 exhibitors attended the event.
