BEIJING, July 20 (Xinhua) -- President Hu Jintao met with a special envoy of Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi Friday morning.

At the start of the meeting, Hu welcomed Mohamed Kamel Amr, also Egypt's foreign minister, to China to attend the opening ceremony of the fifth ministerial meeting of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) as special envoy of the Egyptian president.

Morsi, sworn in as Egyptian president on June 30, didn't attend the opening ceremony, as he is busy with domestic affairs.

During the meeting, Hu invited Morsi to visit China "when it is convenient for both sides."

Morsi hopes China will be one of the first countries he visits after taking office, Amr said.

President Morsi wished to attend the ceremony himself, Amr said.
