China Festival Opens in India

The China Festival, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India, kicked off on April 20 at the Old Fort in the Indian capital New Delhi.

Sun Jiazheng, vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), who is visiting India, and Kumari Selja, minister of the Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation and Tourism, attended the opening ceremony and addressed the audience.

Starting in April, cultural activities including the China Festival and India Festival will be held, which were initiated by the Ministry of Culture and the India Council for Cultural Relations.
