Ambassador Zhang Yan Visits FAPCCI in Hyderabad, India

--Celebration of Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between China and India and China Week in Hyderabad-VI

On the afternoon of November 12, 2010, Chinese Ambassador to India Mr. Zhang Yan visited FAPCCI (Federation of Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry) in Hyderabad, the capital of Andhra Pradesh and met with president, general secretary, members of FAPCCI and representatives from business circles of Andhra Pradesh.

Ambassador Zhang was warmly welcomed by Mr. Shekhar Agarwal, President of FAPCCI. Mr. Agarwal said in the year 2010 which coincides with the 60th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between India and China, both sides should seize opportunities to strengthen all around cooperation in various fields. At present, the economic and trade relations witnesses a sound development with large quantities of commodities entering into Indian market and gaining much popularity. India welcomes China's expanding investment in India, meanwhile, Indian companies are willing to share experiences with Chinese enterprises, deepen mutual understanding and promote cooperation.

Ambassador Zhang said he was glad to have the opportunity to visit FAPCCI, and appreciated its important role in promoting bilateral trade relations. As the two largest emerging economies in the world, China and India have gained rapid economic growth and made great contributions to the development of world economy in recent years. More important, both have maintained fairly rapid growth even after the financial crisis.

According to Ambassador Zhang, after the visit, he got to know more about Andhra Pradesh in various aspects such as politics, economy, education, and culture. He was fully confident of strengthening economic cooperation between China and Andhra Pradesh. China's advantage in hardware and India's advantage in software should be complementary to each other. In light of Andhra Pradesh's notable advantages in many areas such as pharmacy, IT and biotech, both sides should explore cooperative potentials and expand cooperative areas.

Ambassador Zhang also introduced the China Week in Hyderabad and responded to questions posed by participating members of FAPCCI.
