August 15th is a day with historical significance for every Indian people. Sixty-four years ago, Indian First Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru announced the birth of the Republic of India with his famous speech〝Tryst with Destiny〞. India finally broke free from the foreign colonial rule and became an independent nation.

On the occasion marking this important day, the Chinese people share the joy with Indian people, and express the very best wish for the even greater progress in their endeavor to achieve economic and social development goal.

China and India, as two close neighbors, enjoy long history of friendly exchanges and cooperation. In recent years, our bilateral relations have witnessed rapid development. Two countries have established the strategic and cooperative partnership for peace and prosperity. As two fast emerging economies, both have been playing and increasingly important role in world affairs and making their due contribution to the peace, development and prosperity of the world. China and India are destined to work together and prosper together. A tryst of two great civilizations could make miracle for the mankind.
